Governance, Quality and Contracts Manager
Evolve Psychology Services is looking for a Governance, Quality and Contracts Manager
Job description
About Evolve Psychology
At Evolve Psychology, we do things differently. Founded in 2014 by Dr Laura Powling, Evolve Psychology began with a bold aim: to redefine what clinical and forensic psychology looks like in practice. Laura’s vision was simple yet powerful – to bring care, connection, empathy, and clinical excellence together, with no compromise.
What started as a small practice delivering expert witness and neurodevelopmental assessments has grown into a national independent psychology service. We earned our first NHS contract in 2021, launched satellite clinics to streamline access, and expanded neurodevelopmental services to families across the UK.
At Evolve Psychology, we are passionate about improving access to high-quality psychological and neurodevelopmental services. We work in partnership with the NHS and other commissioners to deliver evidence-based assessments for children, young people, adults, and families.
Our innovative, multidisciplinary team – including psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and nurses – is committed to making services accessible, compassionate, and clinically excellent.
As our organisation continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Governance, Quality and Contracts Manager to help strengthen our partnerships, deliver outstanding services, oversee clinical governance, and lead our quality and contracts teams.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of governance, quality management, contract management, performance, and business development.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all of Evolve’s NHS contracts are delivered to the highest standards — meeting KPIs, quality measures, and compliance requirements — while also taking overall responsibility for clinical governance, quality management systems, and continuous improvement. You will lead and manage team members working across these areas and support our senior leadership team to develop new business opportunities, write bids, and grow our commissioned service portfolio.
This is a varied and influential role, combining strategic oversight, relationship management, team leadership, and hands-on delivery. You’ll work closely with our clinical, operational, and finance teams to ensure we continue to deliver services that meet NHS expectations, maintain excellent governance, and make a difference to the families we support.
This hybrid role is based from our Head Office in Harrogate. Remote roles will be considered for the right candidate, with some occasional travel expected to clinic locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the performance and delivery of all NHS contracts, ensuring full compliance with the NHS Standard Contract and commissioner requirements.
- Monitor KPIs, Indicative Activity Plans (IAPs), and reporting schedules, ensuring submissions are timely and accurate.
- Act as the main liaison with NHS commissioners (ICBs/NHSE), attending contract review meetings and building positive, collaborative relationships.
- Lead or support bid writing and tender submissions, coordinating input from clinical and operational teams.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and service innovations.
- Analyse contract data to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for service improvement.
- Support mobilisation of new contracts and ensure effective handover into operational delivery.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to monitor budgets, invoicing, and contract variations.
- Lead and oversee clinical governance and quality management systems, ensuring compliance with professional standards, NHS requirements, and organisational policies.
- Drive continuous improvement across services and support a culture of learning and excellence.
- Manage and develop team members working across governance, quality, and contracts functions.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in managing NHS contracts and working with ICBs or NHS England.
- Skilled at interpreting KPIs, data, and service specifications.
- A confident communicator and relationship-builder, able to engage effectively with commissioners and internal teams.
- Experienced in bid writing or tender submissions, with a sharp eye for detail and quality.
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about improving access to healthcare and upholding NHS values.
- Experienced in clinical governance, quality management, and leading small teams.
What We Offer
- The chance to work within an innovative, growing organisation making real impact across the UK.
- A supportive, collaborative team culture that values wellbeing, learning, and development.
- Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
- Opportunities to shape new services and influence growth strategies.
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Annual leave 28 days plus bank holidays
- Birthday day off
- Healthcare Insurance Benefits
- Team building events e.g., annual conference and other social events
- Opportunities to engage in charitable events
