Job description

Blackfield Associates are supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in their search for a Project Technician to join their Production Engineering team.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for a technically skilled and motivated individual to contribute to key engineering projects that ensure compliance, reliability, and innovation within a modern GMP manufacturing and packaging environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering technical expertise in support of project and operational activities, ensuring compliance with GMP and Good Engineering Practice (GEP).
  • Lead small-scale engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage internal and external engineering resources and coordinate day-to-day project activities.
  • Oversee contractor management, including inductions, risk assessments, and permit-to-work processes.
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Time-served apprenticeship with City & Guilds and/or NVQ Level 3–4 in engineering, building services, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience managing building services or engineering projects, ideally within a GMP or pharmaceutical environment (other regulated industries considered).
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations and EHS practices desirable.
  • Formal project management training or qualifications (e.g., Prince2, APM) advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
