The role:
Working within our operations team, the project manager role is vital in helping us to provide an outstanding client experience. As the key point of contact for contractors, suppliers and clients throughout the production and installation process, outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential skills.
Whilst it is very important to keep clients updated at every stage of their project, it is also vital to listen to them with empathy and help identify/solve problems to make the process run as smoothly as possible.
Specific responsibilities include:
- From order confirmation, managing all communication with clients and their consultants through to the successful completion of the project
- Develop a collaborative & positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and colleagues
- Discuss, agree and communicate project timescales (both internally and externally) and schedule and plan all jobs
- Visiting sites, where necessary to check on progress – liaising with all relevant team members and contractors to keep project to agreed timelines
- Manage and lead fitting teams to ensure that issues are identified early and resolved in a timely manner, resolving resource issues promptly
- Working closely with the technical team to suggest and implement product improvements, ensuring that the commercial implications of any improvements are considered
- Lead handover meetings with designers and technical team to ensure projects are carefully planned and flag potential issues. Ensure issues are appropriately mitigated
- Identify issues on site and suggest ways to improve future designs or adjust construction drawings, potentially leading to workshop improvements and improved fitting instructions
- Liaise effectively with other members of the operations team and other internal parties as appropriate
- Collate information required to place remedial orders, ensuring these are produced in a timely manner and installed as quickly as possible. Manage Aftercare requests, ensuring problems are resolved promptly, adhering to warranty terms and billing accurately for Aftercare items, where possible
- Review all jobs post completion and share lessons learned both good and bad, with all relevant parties, as appropriate
Person Specification:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with exceptional client management skills. Outstanding communication skills are at the heart of this role, ensuring that clients are kept up to date on the progress of their project.
- Highly organised, you’ll have a proven track record of managing client communications
- We are looking for someone who shares our passion and vision to deliver a high quality and truly bespoke product and service to clients
- You enjoy delivering an outstanding client service and care deeply about client satisfaction
- A strong and empathetic communicator, you understand the importance of sharing progress updates and answering queries promptly, professionally and honestly
- You have lots of initiative and look for solutions to problems (consulting others where necessary)
- With excellent attention to detail, you continually strive to improve processes and client delivery
- You are highly organised and enjoy bringing logic and order to projects
- You understand the commercial drivers of our business and work to protect profit margins on projects
- You will have significant experience of establishing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- You will have experience within the bespoke joinery or residential construction sectors
- You are a positive and proactive person and encourage others to strive for excellence
- A self starter, you are highly motivated and manage your workload efficiently
- A team player, you enjoy working collaboratively with others
