Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced Principal / Specialist Consultant with a strong background in UKCS oil and gas permitting to join their growing Permits & Licensing team.


About the Role


This is a senior opportunity supporting a diverse portfolio of offshore energy projects, from early project development through to late life and decommissioning.


Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage permitting and licensing projects
  • Prepare and review UKCS oil and gas permits, including term and life chemical permitting
  • Act as a Project Manager, Project Sponsor or provide secondment support within client teams
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with clients, operators, regulators and stakeholders
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to consultants within the team
  • Lead permit preparation, report writing and quality assurance
  • Support projects through operational, late-life and decommissioning stages
  • Work collaboratively with wider environmental, engineering and advisory teams



Qualifications


  • A degree in a relevant discipline such as environmental science, chemistry or engineering


Required Skills


  • Significant professional experience in oil and gas permitting
  • Strong knowledge of the offshore energy industry, particularly operational and/or late-life projects
  • Experience leading and project managing scopes of work
  • Strong knowledge of offshore legislation and experience reviewing and advising on regulatory requirements
  • A proven track record of working effectively with operators, regulators and stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical, communication and report-writing skills
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Experience engaging with industry forums and working groups would be advantageous
