Territory Definition – London & Home Counties
The territory scope may evolve over time by mutual agreement between the company and the employee.
Key Responsibilities
The role will involve full ownership of a defined UK territory, with responsibilities including:
- Delivering revenue growth across the assigned region
- Developing and executing a UK Sports Medicine territory business plan
- Managing and growing a portfolio of key hospital accounts and clinical stakeholders
- Building strong relationships with surgeons, KOLs, theatre teams, and procurement
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of the Sports Medicine product portfolio
- Providing local support to customers, including training, in-theatre support, and case coverage as required
- Identifying and developing new local and regional business opportunities
- Preparing and delivering high-quality commercial proposals and tenders
- Supporting and executing relevant marketing and promotional initiatives
- Representing the business at national and international conferences, events, and exhibitions
- Coordinating surgeon attendance at training programmes and educational events
- Organising and supporting UK and European training courses for clinical customers
- Managing pricing, discount structures, and commercial negotiations within agreed frameworks
- Producing and reviewing monthly territory plans and performance updates
- Supporting the training, mentoring, and development of junior sales colleagues where required
Key Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience within orthopaedics, ideally Sports Medicine (knee, shoulder, and/or hip)
- Strong background in both account management and new business development
- Experience engaging with stakeholders across the NHS and private healthcare sectors, including procurement and senior management
- Excellent organisational and territory planning skills
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence influencing and negotiating with senior internal and external stakeholders
- A strategic, commercially astute approach to sales and business development
- Solid understanding of pricing, margins, and profitability
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex territory
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in orthopaedic sales
- Degree-level education preferred (life sciences advantageous but not essential)
