Location: Office / Factory Premises, Tyseley, Birmingham, UK

Reporting to: Design Manager

Contract: Full-time, permanent


Role Overview

Warrior Doors is seeking a Design Engineer to join our design and engineering team, based at our office and factory premises. The role supports the full lifecycle of our specialist door products — from site survey and design through manufacture, installation, servicing, and ongoing R&D.

This is a hands-on engineering role, well suited to someone who enjoys working close to manufacturing and seeing designs built, installed, and improved.


Key Responsibilities

  • Produce 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
  • Design components and assemblies suitable for fabrication and manufacture
  • Support and interpret site survey information
  • Work closely with the workshop and manufacturing team to ensure practical, buildable designs
  • Provide design support during installation and service activities
  • Contribute to R&D and continuous improvement of existing and new products
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality procedures
  • Maintain accurate drawings, revisions, and technical documentation
  • Liaise with internal teams to support projects from enquiry through to completion


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate engineering drawings
  • Understanding of design for manufacture
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach


Desirable Skills

  • Workshop or manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment
  • Exposure to R&D or product development
  • Experience supporting site surveys, installations, or service teams
