Contract: Full-time, permanent
Role Overview
Warrior Doors is seeking a Design Engineer to join our design and engineering team, based at our office and factory premises. The role supports the full lifecycle of our specialist door products — from site survey and design through manufacture, installation, servicing, and ongoing R&D.
This is a hands-on engineering role, well suited to someone who enjoys working close to manufacturing and seeing designs built, installed, and improved.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Design components and assemblies suitable for fabrication and manufacture
- Support and interpret site survey information
- Work closely with the workshop and manufacturing team to ensure practical, buildable designs
- Provide design support during installation and service activities
- Contribute to R&D and continuous improvement of existing and new products
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality procedures
- Maintain accurate drawings, revisions, and technical documentation
- Liaise with internal teams to support projects from enquiry through to completion
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred but not essential)
- Ability to produce clear and accurate engineering drawings
- Understanding of design for manufacture
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
Desirable Skills
- Workshop or manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment
- Exposure to R&D or product development
- Experience supporting site surveys, installations, or service teams
