We're partnered with a rapidly growing, tech for good company building advanced data-driven products in a highly regulated industry. The multidisciplinary team includes domain specialists, engineers, and product managers working together to solve complex real-world problems.

Following significant recent growth and strong investor backing, they're entering a key scaling phase. They're evolving from an early startup environment into a high-performing, structured engineering organisation built around ownership, velocity, accountability, and quality.

As an Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Build, mentor, and manage high-performing engineering teams
  • Support engineers in their technical and professional development
  • Create clear growth paths and help foster a strong performance culture
  • Strengthen engineering best practices across code quality, system design, and delivery
  • Help the organisation transition from early-stage startup to a more scalable operating model
  • Ensure projects are delivered effectively and efficiently with end-user needs in mind
  • Foster a culture of trust, ownership, and high output without sacrificing quality
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain strong engineers suited to fast-moving environments
  • Work closely with product, design, and operational stakeholders to plan and execute priorities

You're likely a strong fit if you:

  • Have several years of engineering leadership experience in growing startups or scaling teams
  • Have supported teams through periods of rapid growth or organisational change
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments with clear goals and performance expectations
  • Know how to balance speed with strong engineering discipline
  • Are comfortable contributing to technical discussions while empowering others to lead
  • Have a strong product and outcome-focused mindset
  • Care deeply about raising the bar in execution, hiring, and accountability
  • Hands-on experience with Python, React, cloud environments (AWS is preferred), infrastructure and distrubuted systems (kubernetes).

What's offered:

  • Competitive salary and long-term incentive opportunities
  • Pension contribution
  • Generous family and medical leave policies
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
  • Equipment and tools to support your work
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team environment
  • Significant opportunity for professional growth as the company scales
