Engineering Manager – Food Manufacturing

£70,000+ | South West England

A well-established, family-owned food manufacturing business is looking for a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering function at their fast-paced site. This is a senior role with real responsibility and a seat on the site Senior Leadership Team.

You’ll manage a team of six engineers and be responsible for plant reliability, maintenance standards, and engineering compliance, ensuring production runs safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the site engineering team
• Drive preventative maintenance and reduce downtime
• Oversee reactive maintenance and root cause analysis
• Manage contractors and safe systems of work
• Support site improvements and equipment upgrades
• Work closely with operations to support production performance

About you:

• Engineering leadership experience within food manufacturing
• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background
• Experience improving reliability and maintenance culture
• Good understanding of health, safety, and food compliance
