Systems Safety Manager

SC clearance (or eligible)

We’re looking for an experienced Systems Safety Manager to act as the senior engineering safety authority across our defence products, covering air, land and maritime domains.

This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role suited to a Senior / Principal / Lead Safety Engineer with strong practical experience applying Def Stan 00‑55 / 00‑56 in a regulated defence environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead systems safety across all products
• Develop, manage and present safety cases to customer sign‑off
• Apply defence safety standards across programmes and domains
• Work closely with project teams to ensure safety is designed in
• Act as the primary safety interface with customers and stakeholders
• Support audits, design reviews and assurance activities
• Provide airworthiness support (DAOS exposure beneficial, not essential)

About You

• Strong background in engineering / systems safety
• Practical experience in delivering safety cases
• Confident operating as the senior safety authority
• Comfortable challenging and influencing senior stakeholders
• Able to work independently in a fast‑moving delivery environment
