The Configuration Engineer will be responsible for supporting the creation, maintenance, and control of engineering data within the ERP system. You will play a key part in managing Bills of Material (BOMs), configuration control, and change management processes to support fluctuating manufacturing and assembly requirements.

Working closely with engineering, production, and customer teams, you will ensure accurate and reliable information flow across programs and contribute to the successful introduction of new products.

Job Description

  • Act as the main point of contact for all technical input into the ERP system
  • Maintain and manage “As Planned” Bills of Material and associated changes
  • Support change management and Technical Review Boards
  • Evaluate and propose feasible solutions to engineering and design issues
  • Provide configuration control and release management support
  • Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams on technical queries
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve queries and implement changes
  • Support both standard and non-standard product and process changes
  • Assist with data transfer and documentation control
  • Attend regular progress meetings to support NPI activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices

NPI Configuration Engineer

Qualifications and Experience

  • HNC/HND or higher qualification in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in production or engineering within an aerospace environment
  • Proven experience in creating and maintaining Bills of Material and routings
  • Strong background in configuration control and change management
  • Knowledge of GD&T techniques
  • Understanding of manufacturing engineering processes
  • CAD experience (CATIA V5 desirable)
  • Strong IT and ERP system literacy
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and treatments
  • Ability to manage engineering data and documentation
