Salary: Up to £100,000 per annum + Company Car / Allowance

The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Sales Manager (Director Designate) to join a well-established and highly respected sheet metal fabrication business entering an exciting phase of growth and investment.

With significant capital investment in state-of-the-art manufacturing technology — including advanced laser cutting, press brake forming, welding, and assembly capabilities — the business is positioning itself as a leading multi-process manufacturing partner across diverse industries.

The Role

As Sales Manager (Director Designate), you will take ownership of commercial growth strategy while building and leading a high-performing sales function. You will work closely with senior leadership to expand market presence, develop strategic partnerships, and maximise the value of the company’s manufacturing capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and executing a strategic sales plan aligned with business growth objectives
• Identifying and securing new business opportunities across key sectors
• Growing revenue through both new client acquisition and existing account development
• Positioning the business as a preferred multi-process manufacturing partner
• Collaborating with engineering, production, and operational teams to deliver customer solutions
• Leading, mentoring, and developing the sales team as the business expands
• Analysing market trends and identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation
• Supporting the transition into a future Director-level leadership role

About You

We are looking for a commercially astute and hands-on leader with strong technical manufacturing understanding.

Ideal background includes:

• Proven success in senior sales or commercial leadership within sheet metal fabrication, precision engineering, or subcontract manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of processes such as laser cutting, press brake, fabrication, welding, or multi-process manufacturing environments
• Demonstrated experience driving business growth and developing strategic customer relationships
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ambition to progress into senior leadership
• Ability to operate strategically while remaining operationally engaged
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
