Senior/Account Manager – Medical Communications

UK (Hybrid working) London or Manchester

£40,000 - £50,000 + benefits


I’m working with an established, global healthcare communications group made up of multiple specialist businesses supporting pharmaceutical and biotech clients across the full product life-cycle. The agency is known for its strategic thinking and collaborative culture.


The Opportunity

They are now looking for an experienced Senior/Account Manager to take a leading role across key client accounts. This is a hands-on, senior client services role with responsibility for team leadership, financial and project management, and organic account growth, working closely with senior stakeholders internally and externally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate account teams to deliver high-quality medical communications projects on time, to budget and to client satisfaction
  • Act as the primary client contact, building strong, long-term relationships and providing a trusted commercial perspective
  • Drive organic growth aligned to client strategies and objectives
  • Interpret and challenge client briefs, translating them into clear, actionable internal direction
  • Oversee resourcing, team performance and delivery across assigned accounts
  • Contribute to account planning, forecasting and KPI tracking
  • Lead or support RFIs/RFPs and pitch activity as required
  • Manage project finances end-to-end, including SOW review, budget tracking, reconciliation, invoicing and aged debt monitoring
  • Identify opportunities for growth and proactively address risks or limitations
  • Confidently communicate across the organisation, including up-managing to senior leadership and mentoring junior team members


About You

  • 5+ years’ experience within medical communications
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical product life-cycle and medcomms deliverables
  • Excellent project and financial management skills with strong commercial acumen
  • Proven leadership and people-management experience
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Comfortable working autonomously while thriving in a collaborative team environment
