Senior Domestic Abuse Officer
Service Care Solutions is looking for a Senior Domestic Abuse Officer
Job description
Senior Domestic Abuse Officer | Family Safeguarding Specialist
We are seeking a Senior Domestic Abuse Officer to join an innovative Family Safeguarding Team. This isn't a standard "siloed" role. You will work within a co-located, multi-disciplinary hub alongside Social Workers, Mental Health Practitioners, and Recovery Workers to tackle the root causes of domestic abuse and keep families together safely.
The Mission
The Family Safeguarding model is built on Motivational Interviewing. We move away from simple monitoring and toward empowering parents to make lasting, positive changes. As a Senior Officer, you will be the lead authority on domestic violence within the team, managing a group of operational workers to deliver high-impact probation services in a child protection context.
Your Impact
- Lead & Develop: Manage and mentor a team of Domestic Abuse practitioners, ensuring high standards of performance and professional growth.
- Risk Management: Act as the lead for high-risk cases, utilizing your expertise in MARAC and MAPPA to ensure robust safeguarding.
- Collaborative Strategy: Work directly with Social Work Team Managers to contribute to annual plans and service improvements.
- Whole-Family Approach: Implement the Family Program Modules to help parents address domestic abuse, mental health, and substance misuse challenges simultaneously.
What You Bring
- Essential: A relevant Probation Qualification (PQiP/DipPS/DiPS or equivalent).
- Expertise: Extensive experience in assessing and managing high-risk domestic violence cases within a safeguarding framework.
- Leadership: A proven ability to lead teams through change and manage performance effectively.
- Communication: The ability to influence partners across agencies and present complex risk data clearly.
- Mindset: A commitment to the principles of the Probation Service and a belief in the power of the whole-family approach.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional case management. You will be part of a team that values your specialist knowledge, gives you the autonomy to lead, and provides a co-located support network that reduces the "burnout" often found in isolated roles.
