Position: Electronic Engineer
Location: Chesterfield
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electronic Engineer to join an established and growing business based in Chesterfield. Our client designs, develops, and manufactures a range of electronic devices used across the UK and Europe.
This position is suited to an Electronic Engineer with a relevant degree qualification and demonstrable industry experience in a similar role. You will be involved in the full development of electronic products, working across electronics design including PCB design, mixed-signal circuits, embedded programming in C, and microcontroller-based systems.
You will work as part of a small, offering significant variety in your day-to-day responsibilities and the opportunity to work closely with a small design team. This role will suit someone with strong attention to detail who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, product development environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Relevant degree in Electronic Engineering or similar discipline
- Industry experience within an electronics design environment
- Strong understanding of communication protocols, including SPI, UART, and I²C
- Proficient in PCB layout and schematic design using Altium Designer
- Embedded C programming
- Hands-on hardware-level experience with STM32 and ESP32 microcontrollers
- Experience with circuit prototyping, testing, and debugging
- Skilled in the use of test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
- Familiarity with manufacturing techniques, design for manufacture (DFM), and EMC compliance requirements
Desirable Experience
- Mechanical design experience, ideally using SolidWorks
- Design experience for injection moulding / vacuum forming
- Experience working with Zigbee RF modules
- Writing applications for Raspberry Pi using Python
- Design experience with high-power LED devices and constant current circuits
