Senior Platform Engineer

Job description

We’re hiring a senior, product-minded engineer to help build and scale an internal application platform used across a fast-moving, global financial environment. This is a high-ownership role focused on enabling internal teams to build faster, safer, and better software.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building core internal platform services (auth, permissions, UI frameworks, data access layers)
• Creating reusable tooling and frameworks that accelerate application development
• Partnering closely with non-engineering teams (product, operations, risk, compliance) to design real-world workflows
• Owning shared infrastructure: service orchestration, observability, CI/CD, error handling
• Setting standards for architecture, frontend/backend patterns, and platform onboarding
• Mentoring engineers and driving best practices across teams
• Integrating modern AI tooling (LLMs, vector databases, RAG workflows) into internal platforms

What we’re looking for

• 6+ years experience as a software or platform engineer in complex environments
• Strong Python engineering background (compiled languages a plus)
• Experience with cloud-native systems (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
• Familiarity with distributed systems, high-throughput services, and multi-threading
• Exposure to internal developer platforms, shared libraries, or enterprise tooling
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working with non-technical stakeholders
