Job Title: Recovery Nurse
Department: Theatre
Reports to: Theatre / Recovery Lead

A well-established private day-surgery clinic in Central London is seeking an experienced Recovery Practitioner to join its theatre team. The service delivers high-quality day-case procedures across multiple specialties, supporting patients through the immediate post-operative phase in a modern, well-equipped clinical environment.
Purpose of the Role
You will provide safe, effective care to patients during recovery following surgery, supporting the wider theatre team and contributing to smooth patient flow from theatre through to discharge. This role suits a confident practitioner with strong perioperative experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced private healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-standard post-anaesthetic care and monitoring
- Prepare and check recovery equipment, drugs and consumables
- Support patient transfers, positioning and comfort
- Assist anaesthetists and theatre staff during the immediate post-operative phase
- Monitor pain levels and respond to clinical changes promptly
- Educate and reassure patients and families during recovery
- Maintain accurate documentation and support safe discharge processes
- Contribute to stock control, infection prevention and clinical governance standards
Requirements
- Registered Nurse or ODP (NMC/HCPC)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in recovery/theatre settings
- ILS/ALS desirable
- Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload
Working Pattern
- 37.5 hours per week
- Day shifts, Monday to Friday
