Commercial Manager (Contract) – Transmission & Renewables Projects

South West & South Wales

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a busy transmission and renewables team on a contract basis. If you’re used to overseeing multiple infrastructure projects, enjoy taking ownership of commercial performance, and know how to balance risk with opportunity — this role will give you the scope to make a real impact.

You’ll be working across high-voltage substation and transmission projects (up to 400kV), supporting both live schemes and tenders, while partnering closely with operational and finance teams to keep projects commercially strong and on track.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading the commercial strategy across a portfolio of projects
• Managing tenders, reviewing risks and identifying opportunities early
• Overseeing CVRs, forecasting and cashflow performance
• Ensuring contracts are properly administered and commercially compliant
• Strengthening client and supply chain relationships
• Supporting, mentoring and developing commercial team members
• Promoting high standards of HSEQ across all projects

What you’ll bring

• Strong experience in a Commercial Manager role within energy or infrastructure
• Background in National Grid substation projects (preferred)
• In-depth knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts
• Degree qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Confident negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
