Business Development Manager – Payments

A fast-growing, independent omnichannel payments provider is looking for a Business

Development Manager to join its expanding commercial team. The business supports SMEs across the UK and Europe with in-store and online payment solutions, combining modern POS technology with scalable acquiring platforms.

This is a field-based role where you’ll have full ownership of your territory and the autonomy to manage your day, pipeline, and sales strategy, backed by strong products, training, and internal support.

The Role

You will be responsible for driving new business and growing revenue by acquiring and developing SME merchants.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and developing your own territory on a daily basis
• High-volume B2B prospecting (including cold calling and door knocking)
• Targeting SME businesses with annual card turnover of £50k–£5m
• Building long-term relationships to retain and grow accounts
• Upselling additional products (e.g. EPOS and value-added services)
• Achieving multi-product penetration across your client base
• Managing CRM activity and sales pipeline to ensure strong conversion rates
• Generating an average of 0.75 self-sourced sales per day
• Onboarding customers end-to-end, from application to go-live
• Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth setup and an excellent customer experience

• Commission: Excellent OTE (£2,500–£6,000 per month realistic)
