We are working in partnership with Central and North West London (CNWL) NHS Foundation Trust to recruit an experienced Pharmacist to support services within a community hospital setting.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to safe, high-quality, patient-centred care within a respected NHS Foundation Trust, supporting medicines optimisation and clinical pharmacy services across inpatient and secure healthcare pathways.
About the Role
As a Pharmacist within CNWL, you will:
- Deliver pharmacy services in line with GPhC standards, NHS governance, and local SOPs
- Clinically screen and verify prescriptions for appropriateness, interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy
- Support medicines reconciliation and optimisation initiatives
- Provide patient counselling and discharge medication advice
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including medical, nursing, and secure healthcare staff
- Ensure safe management of medicines, including controlled drugs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within electronic prescribing systems
- Contribute to audit, governance, and patient safety processes
This role requires on-site working within a community hospital setting.
Essential Requirements
- MPharm degree (or equivalent)
- Current GPhC registration in good standing
- Experience within an NHS hospital, community, or secure healthcare setting
- Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgement
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Valid UK Prison Clearance (essential)
- Up-to-date compliance documentation (Right to Work, DBS where required)
Desirable
- Previous experience in community hospital or secure healthcare pharmacy
- Familiarity with NHS electronic prescribing systems
- Experience supporting medicines optimisation initiatives
