Job description

  • Work within an established, major civil engineering contractor with a strong Scottish pipeline


An award-winning civil engineering contractor, has an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer to develop their expertise and contribute to high-quality infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in site operations throughout the entire project cycle, working across sectors such as marine and coastal works, highways, flood defence, bridges, and ports and harbours.


Key Responsibilities:


Site Operations & Supervision

  • Oversee daily site operations, ensuring work aligns with project plans and specifications.
  • Set out works and verify levels, alignment, and measurements.
  • Collaborate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Identify risks to project delivery and resolve or escalate promptly.
  • Conduct progress reviews and report updates to site management.


Compliance & Quality

  • Inspect materials and completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure all necessary permits are obtained before commencing site activities.
  • Address non-compliance or quality issues, escalating as required.


Health, Safety & Sustainability

  • Promote safety as a core value across all activities.
  • Identify, report, and address safety concerns, escalating where necessary.
  • Support HSEQ and Sustainability objectives, communicating updates to the team.


What You’ll Bring

  • Third-level qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering & Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a civil engineering role.
  • Full driving licence valid in the UK/Ireland.
  • Flexibility to travel and work on multiple projects across the UK.
