ISS Facility Services UK are looking for a proactive and experienced Projects Health and Safety Manager to support and strengthen their national project teams. You will work closely with Project Managers to ensure all projects are delivered safely, compliantly and in alignment with industry regulations and client standards.


Job Description


As the Projects Health and Safety Manager, you will lead health and safety activities across a diverse portfolio of construction and building projects across the UK. You will be responsible for providing dedicated H&S management support, producing project documentation, and helping to resolve complex situations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert health and safety support throughout project planning, delivery and completion, including Principal Designer and Principal Contractor duties
  • Develop and manage Work Commencement Authority processes, ensuring all documentation is reviewed and approved before works begin.
  • Create, implement and maintain project specific health and safety plans, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are recorded and completed.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and training sessions to project teams and contractors.
  • Monitor compliance with UK legislation, CDM Regulations and internal standards.
  • Support project teams, engineers and subcontractors in embedding a positive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with client temporary works standards.
  • Lead health and safety reporting, including client forums, project reviews and monthly performance meetings.
  • Attend sites nationwide as required.
  • Management System and HSEQ programmes.


Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications


  • Strong background in construction environments, with experience in project based health and safety roles.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and temporary works.
  • Sound understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to influence, lead and embed a strong safety culture.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Full UK driving licence not required, but willingness to travel nationwide is essential.
