⚡ Senior Electrical Engineer

£55,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Pension

A major engineering organisation is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on transmission and distribution projects based in London

The Role

You’ll be involved in detailed design and construction support, working closely with clients, suppliers, and multi-discipline project teams

Clear path to develop into Principle level. Within the group as the company has over £4billion in the pipeline of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Involved in detailed Protection & Control designs under an agreed design authority

• Interpret client specifications and prepare technical documentation and BoQs

• Technically review supplier quotations and support alignment with project requirements

• Produce and check design calculations, drawings, and secondary system designs

• Participate in design reviews, checks, and design risk assessments

• Provide technical guidance to engineers and support external designers to ensure quality delivery

• Support construction teams with specialist input on substation automation and secondary systems

• Interface with wider engineering disciplines to support compliant and buildable designs

• Support the development of junior engineers through knowledge sharing and review

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience delivering design for 440kV systems

• Strong knowledge of protection schemes, substation automation, and secondary systems

• Experience working within multi-discipline teams and engaging with suppliers and contractors

• A practical and safety-focused approach to delivering compliant, commercially aware engineering solutions
