Programme Lead – EV Propulsion Systems

Gazelle Global is looking for a Programme Lead – EV Propulsion Systems

Job description

Programme Lead – EV Propulsion Systems

Location: Gaydon

Sector: Automotive | Electrification | Vehicle Engineering

Engagement: Contract

Client: Leading Global OEM

This is not a coordination role. It is delivery leadership at propulsion system level.

We are supporting a major OEM in Gaydon as they scale next generation EV platforms. They require a Programme Lead to take ownership of EV powertrain system delivery across the full engineering lifecycle. You will sit at the intersection of propulsion engineering and structured programme execution, ensuring technical maturity aligns with gateway timing and vehicle milestones.

If you understand that programme control in EV is as much about managing inverter thermal constraints as it is about RAID logs, this will resonate.

The Role

You will lead engineering delivery across electric propulsion systems, driving technical maturity from concept through validation and release.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead cross functional engineering teams to deliver high performance EV powertrain systems to programme timing and cost targets.
  2. Own programme planning and gateway delivery for propulsion systems, ensuring alignment with vehicle level milestones.
  3. Monitor Engineering Delivery health, proactively identifying risks and issues and driving corrective action at pace.
  4. Manage integrated project plans, timelines, risk registers and mitigation strategies.
  5. Drive powertrain level engineering activities including requirements definition, supplier selection, design release, prototype build and validation testing.
  6. Act as the primary day to day Programme interface between Engineering, Programme Management and key stakeholders.
  7. Ensure deliverables meet technical requirements and regulatory compliance standards.
  8. Strengthen collaboration between OEM and supplier engineering teams to ensure technical convergence and delivery confidence.
  9. Lead performance management of the Engineering Delivery team to maintain momentum and accountability.
  10. Embed continuous improvement within propulsion programme execution processes.

Technical Scope

Strong working knowledge of EV propulsion systems is essential, including:

  • Power electronics and inverter systems
  • Electric motor technologies
  • High voltage battery systems
  • Integration within vehicle architecture
  • Validation, durability and compliance considerations

You must understand how these subsystems interact.
