Job description
Assembly Process Engineer - Commercial Fleet Conversions
£40,000 - £50,000 basic | Location High Wycombe
A role for someone who wants real influence on how things get built, not just sit behind drawings. You will be the person the production team relies on when something needs fixing fast and when the process needs tightening. This is a chance to shape the shopfloor in a business that values practical engineering and sharp thinking.
You will own the assembly process end to end and make it cleaner, faster and more reliable. You will get the freedom to solve problems properly and the trust to drive standards without being buried in politics. If you like the mix of hands-on engineering and structured process improvement, this is a strong next step.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading real-time production support and tackling build issues at source.
- Owning methods, standards and flow across the assembly process and driving continuous improvement.
- Managing build data and documentation including BOMs, SOPs and work instructions.
- Supporting quality activities, corrective actions and readiness for new or prototype builds.
What You’ll Need to Bring:
- Strong ability to interpret drawings and handle variants or options.
- Experience in assembly, conversion or integration environments ideally with electro-mechanical builds.
- Proven lean mindset with hands-on improvement skills including standard work and visual management.
- Confidence with documentation control and structured root cause analysis.
Who They Are:
This brilliant business is at the heart of the UK transportation, Utilities and Services sectors. Working with some of the largest and arguably most important fleets and vehicle manufacturers, their innovative engineering and manufacturing solutions keep the wheels of industry turning.
They are a growing manufacturing business focused on delivering quality engineered products with pace and precision. The environment is practical, collaborative and committed to doing things properly first time. This is a place where process ownership matters and engineering improvements are backed not blocked.
