Microsoft Fabric Architect (Contract)

Contract Length: Up to 6 Months (likely to extend)

Location: Remote

Day Rate: £550 (Outside IR35)

Start Date: ASAP

We’re looking for a Microsoft Fabric Architect to lead a greenfield data platform build within a growing organisation looking to modernise its data estate.

You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end architecture, designing and delivering a scalable Lakehouse solution using Microsoft Fabric. This role requires someone who can operate hands-on while also setting direction, standards and best practices across the platform. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll shape the roadmap and drive the solution through to production.

Key Experience Required

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Experience building end-to-end Lakehouse solutions
• Good data modelling skills (e.g. Star schema)
• Experience using PySpark or Spark SQL
• Building data pipelines from APIs, ERP or SaaS systems
• Working with Fabric pipelines, notebooks and Dataflows
• Understanding of data governance and security
• Able to work independently and lead delivery

Bonus Points

• Experience with Databricks or Azure Synapse
• Power BI modelling and DAX
• Experience building platforms from scratch
• Experience working in organisations with limited existing data structure
