Senior Manager Technical Accounts (Practice)
This role sits within a large, multi‑regional professional services group focused on delivering trusted, locally driven business advice to small and medium‑sized enterprises. The organisation prioritises strong client relationships, forward‑thinking service delivery, and a collaborative working culture. The Senior Manager will oversee a portfolio of clients, manage key relationships, and ensure high‑quality delivery across accounts and tax services. The position requires a strategic leader who can guide teams, support commercial growth, and uphold high standards of compliance and client care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a personal portfolio of complex clients, including accounts and corporation tax work.
- Ensure deadlines, actions, and client‑facing communications are delivered to an exceptional standard.
- Build long‑term relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and team members.
- Provide tailored advice across accounts, tax planning, and general business matters.
Technical Oversight
- Review work prepared by the team to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
- Support colleagues with technical reviews, including:
- Consolidated accounts
- Reporting for UK subsidiaries of international groups
- FRS 102
- Liaison with external auditors
- Business valuations
- Complex VAT matters
- CT600 submissions
- Oversee bookkeeping activity at a supervisory level.
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
- Contribute to business planning activities focused on revenue, profitability, and service development.
- Enhance efficiency and operational quality through best practices and effective use of technology.
- Promote high professional standards and contribute to expanding the organisation’s client base.
- Maintain oversight of client relationships to ensure value, quality, and compliance.
Key Requirements
- ACCA / ACA qualified, or QBE with equivalent experience (mandatory).
- Minimum 3 years’ post‑qualification experience in a practice environment.
- CTA or ATT desirable but not required.
