Software Developer – Real‑Time Data & Cloud Engineering

Kafka, Go, Python, .NET, GCP, SQL,

Hybrid – Manchester or Stoke (2 days onsite)

£55,000 + 15% bonus + full benefit

Our client is expanding its real‑time data platform team and is looking for a Software Developer who enjoys building high‑performance, cloud‑native systems. You’ll work across Kafka Streams, Go, Python, .NET, SQL, Spanner, BigQuery, and modern automation tooling to deliver scalable, low‑latency data solutions.

What you’ll work on

• Real‑time streaming applications using Kafka and event‑driven architectures.

• Services built in Go, Python or .NET, with clean, maintainable code.

• Cloud‑native development on GCP (Spanner, BigQuery, Pub/Sub).

• SQL‑driven data processing and optimisation.

• Automation, developer tooling, and platform reliability improvements.

• High‑volume, low‑latency systems used across the organisation.

What we’re looking for

• Experience with Go, Python or .NET.

• Hands‑on Kafka knowledge (Streams, producers/consumers).

• Strong SQL skills and experience with large datasets.

• Exposure to GCP or other cloud platforms.

• Comfortable in Linux environments.

• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
