The Role

We are seeking a compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our expanding inpatient service. You will play a pivotal role in shaping trauma-informed care for patients with complex needs, including substance use disorders, personality difficulties, and co-occurring mood disorders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Design: Lead the design and evaluation of evidence-based psychological programs for addiction and dual diagnosis.
  • Clinical Delivery: Provide individual and group therapy using Trauma-focused approaches, DBT, and the Seeking Safety model.
  • MDT Collaboration: Offer psychological formulation to support holistic treatment planning alongside psychiatrists and nursing staff.
  • Leadership & Training: Provide consultation, supervision, and training to the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
  • Governance: Maintain high standards of documentation and ethical practice in line with HCPC requirements.


Candidate Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Education: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) recognized by the HCPC.
  • Registration: Valid HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Experience: Significant background in trauma and substance use disorders (Dual Diagnosis).
  • Skills: Strong formulation skills and the ability to deliver structured, NICE-aligned interventions.


Desirable Criteria

  • Specialized training in DBT or Seeking Safety models.
  • Experience working with neurodivergent individuals (including autistic adults).
  • Experience in supervision or teaching within an MDT setting.
