Data Engineer / Architect, DV Cleared

A leading UK consulting and technology organisation is expanding its defence and national security engineering capability. They are hiring DV-cleared Data Engineers and Data Architects to deliver secure, mission-critical data platforms supporting operational and strategic decision-making.

This role combines hands-on engineering with architecture responsibility, building scalable, secure data pipelines and platforms within classified environments.

The Role

You will design, build, and operate end-to-end data pipelines across ingestion, transformation, and consumption within modern cloud and distributed data platforms.

At architect level, you will also define platform architecture, guide engineering teams, and ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and operate scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, and modern tooling
• Architect secure data platforms covering ingestion, storage, and access
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple secure sources
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and operational reliability
• Translate mission requirements into working data solutions
• Contribute to engineering standards and secure delivery practices

Technical Environment

• Python, SQL, Spark, and distributed data processing
• Cloud platforms, AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Modern data platforms including Databricks and Snowflake
• Data lakes, warehouses, APIs, and secure pipelines
• DevOps, automation, and governance tooling

Requirements

• Active DV clearance, mandatory
• Strong experience building production data pipelines or platforms
• Python and SQL in data engineering environments
• Cloud experience, AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience in defence, government, or secure environments preferred

Working Pattern

Hybrid, typically two days per week on client site or office
