Senior Temporary Works / Structural Engineer

East Hertfordshire (Hybrid – 2 days in office)

£65,000 - £85,000

I’m working with a well-established, specialist Civil & Structural consultancy in East Herefordshire with a strong reputation for contractor-led design, particularly within Temporary Works (circa 75% of their workload).

They’re looking to appoint a Senior Engineer ahead of a long-standing team member retiring next March. They’re keen to secure the right person early and avoid the usual struggle of finding strong temporary works talent locally.

The Role

• Senior OR Principal Temporary Works Engineer (Structures)
• 2–3 site visits per month
• Working closely with main contractors on London-based schemes
• Informal, one-stage interview process

Project Exposure

• Schools, colleges & leisure centres
• Basement construction & excavation support
• Demolition packages
• Trench/clad and contractor-led structural works

Technical Experience Needed

• Strong background in Temporary Works design
• Propping & shoring schemes
• Excavation support & basement works
• Crane bases & piling mats
• Façade retention & demolition stability
• Confident delivering calculations and technical design independently
