Protect one of the UK’s most critical nuclear programmes by turning risk into informed decision-making.


This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how risk is identified, analysed and managed on a nationally significant nuclear project. As Risk Manager, you will work at the heart of programme delivery, supporting senior leaders with insight that genuinely influences outcomes. You will operate in a complex, regulated environment where robust risk management underpins safety, performance and long-term success, while offering strong career progression within a future-focused sector.



Key Responsibilities


  • Develop, maintain and own project and programme risk registers.
  • Lead the identification and development of risk mitigation and action plans.
  • Support and embed effective risk management strategies, plans and culture.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, including QRA on integrated schedules.
  • Advise Programme Directors on key risks, trends and mitigation priorities.
  • Facilitate risk workshops with large, multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Ensure risks are clearly articulated, prioritised and not duplicated across programmes.
  • Collaborate with other Risk Managers to maintain consistency and best practice.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management capability across the business.


Qualifications & Requirements


  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project or programme risk management.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of project and programme scheduling methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle P6, Microsoft Project or similar planning tools.
  • Confidence with quantitative analysis, including Monte Carlo simulation and probabilistic forecasting.
  • Experience developing large data models (QSRA, QCRA) and integrating outputs into decision-making.
  • Sound understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and standards.
  • Membership of a recognised risk or project management body (APM, PMI, IRM, CERA or equivalent).
  • Experience within nuclear, energy or large infrastructure environments (desirable).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Safran Risk, Active Risk Manager or Power BI (desirable).
