Senior Power Electronic Design Engineer

Location: Gatwick, West Sussex

Salary: £50,000 – £65,000

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business based in Gatwick that designs and manufactures high-reliability power electronics for demanding applications.

Due to continued growth within their engineering team, they are seeking a Senior Power Electronic Design Engineer to take ownership of new product development programmes, working on technically complex designs within regulated, high-performance environments.

The Role

As a Senior Power Electronic Design Engineer, you will lead the full lifecycle design of switch mode power supplies, from initial concept and simulation through to testing, validation and manufacturing release.

You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust, compliant and production-ready designs for high-reliability applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop switch mode power supplies across a broad power range
• Take technical ownership of designs from concept through to production
• Perform design analysis, simulation, prototyping and validation
• Support EMC compliance, filtering and system-level integration
• Collaborate with electronics, systems and manufacturing teams
• Ensure designs meet relevant industry and regulatory standards
• Provide technical guidance within the engineering team where required

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience designing switch mode power supplies in real-world applications
• Strong understanding of AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion topologies
• Experience with EMC considerations and mixed-signal environments
• Degree qualified in Electronics or equivalent industry experience
• Confident taking ownership of technically complex projects
• Methodical approach to design, testing and problem solving
