Design Manager – Facades

Location: Leicester

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist façade and cladding contractor delivering complex remediation schemes across the UK.

They are seeking a Design Manager to lead drawing production and coordinate façade design delivery across multiple projects.

The Role

This is a hands-on design management position focused on coordination, dimensional accuracy and buildability.

You will:

• Manage an in-house team of designers
• Coordinate specialist façade subcontract designers
• Oversee production of technical and construction drawings
• Conduct site visits where as-built drawings are unavailable
• Ensure dimensional accuracy prior to fabrication and order placement
• Liaise with Building Control and BSR where required
• Support remediation proposals and technical solutions

This role requires a balance of office-based design management and practical site interface.

Ideal Background

• Proven experience in façade / cladding / EWI design coordination
• Strong knowledge of remediation works
• Experience managing internal design teams
• Ability to coordinate specialist façade packages
• Understanding of regulatory requirements
• Commercial awareness relating to procurement and order placement
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit advantageous but not essential)
