Technical Operations Lead

Albert Bow is looking for a Technical Operations Lead

Job description

Technical Operations Lead

London (Hybrid)

£100,000 – £180,000 + Benefits

Please note: No visa sponsorships are offered, and you must already have the right to work in the UK.

We are hiring on behalf of a fast-growing digital assets company building a global financial institution from the ground up.

They move quickly. They think clearly. They build properly.

As they scale, they’re looking for a Technical Operations Lead who enjoys turning complexity into structure and making things happen.

This is not a background role.

It’s central.

It’s hands-on.

It’s fast.

The role

You will sit at the centre of Engineering, Infrastructure, IT and Security.

Your job is simple in theory: Make sure important things get delivered.

In practice, that means:

  • Driving engineering, infrastructure, IT and security initiatives from idea to completion
  • Turning unclear goals into structured plans with owners and milestones
  • Running project rituals (kick-offs, weekly reviews, risk tracking)
  • Keeping timelines, risks and dependencies visible
  • Gathering requirements across product, trading, research, finance and compliance
  • Managing vendors — selection, RFPs, contracts, renewals and delivery
  • Coordinating cross-team integrations and system migrations
  • Improving operational processes without adding unnecessary bureaucracy

This is a fast-paced environment. Priorities shift. Deadlines matter.

You’ll need to be calm, structured and decisive.

Who this suits:

This role is ideal for someone who has grown up in a smaller high-growth company.

Someone who:

  • Has high ownership and doesn’t wait for instructions
  • Is comfortable with ambiguity and moves forward anyway
  • Enjoys being hands-on rather than purely strategic
  • Can partner confidently with engineers and security teams
  • Has managed vendors and procurement cycles before
  • Communicates clearly and directly

You don’t need to be a deep engineer, but you should be technically comfortable.

For example:

  • Basic scripting knowledge (Python/Bash)
  • Familiar with tools like Jira, Grafana, Confluence
  • Comfortable discussing infrastructure and security trade-offs
  • Able to ask sharp technical questions and spot delivery risks

Experience in regulated or security-focused environments (SOC2, ISO 27001, DORA) is helpful but not essential.

What success looks like (first 3–6 months)

  • Important projects are delivered on time
  • Teams are aligned and there are no surprises
  • Vendor processes feel smoother and faster
  • Integrations go live cleanly and are well documented
  • People trust you to get things done

This role is for someone who likes momentum.

Someone who prefers building rather than maintaining.

Someone who wants real ownership in a business that is scaling fast.

If that sounds like you, please get in touch.
