Job description
Quality Assurance Manager
Cambridgeshire | On-site | Monday–Friday (40 hours)
Are you the kind of quality leader who prefers the factory floor to the office chair? Someone who spots opportunities for improvement before others see problems? If so, this could be your next move.
A growing food manufacturing business in Cambridgeshire is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to play a pivotal role in driving standards, developing people, and championing food safety across site.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Quality Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind day-to-day quality performance. This is a highly visible, hands-on position — coaching teams, partnering with production, leading audits, and making sure every product that leaves site is something the business is proud of.
You’ll set the tone for quality culture, ensuring standards aren’t just met, but continuously improved.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Champion best-in-class factory standards through cross-functional collaboration
- Embed quality expectations within production teams
- Lead internal and external audits with confidence
- Oversee product integrity through:
- Sensory assessments
- Robust QC checks and documentation
- Microbiological and chemical testing (batch and non-batch)
- Take ownership of customer complaints, driving thorough investigation and effective CAPA through to resolution
- Partner with other departments on root cause analysis and preventative actions
- Escalate food safety concerns appropriately and proactively
- Track and report site KPIs to both local and central stakeholders
- Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team through structured 1:1s, performance reviews, and development planning
About You
- Experienced in a quality leadership role within food manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI standards, and wider food safety systems
- A confident communicator who can influence at all levels
- Decisive, organised, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
Why Consider It?
This is a chance to take real ownership of quality on site , not just maintain standards, but shape them. You’ll have the platform to strengthen systems, elevate team capability, and make a tangible impact on product excellence.
