Project Design Engineer

Salary €65,000 approx.
We are hiring for our client, a growing Irish-owned specialist in end-of-line packaging systems and materials handling, who are seeking to appoint a Project Design Engineer. Working as part of a small but highly skilled team, you will take ownership of automation projects from concept through to installation and handover.

The Role:
- Lead and manage automation projects from design through to commissioning and handover
- Plan and coordinate workloads for a small team of designers and installation engineers
- Liaise with clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring delivery to agreed scope and timescales
- Work closely with procurement to ensure materials and components are ordered on time
- Oversee technical drawings, documentation, and scheduling to maintain smooth delivery
- Support testing, commissioning, and sign-off processes, ensuring systems meet specification and safety standards
- Collaborate with internal teams and management to drive quality and project success
The Person:
- Engineering background (Electrical, Automation, Mechanical or similar)
- Experience working with automation systems, conveyors, robotics, or bespoke machinery
- Comfortable leading small teams and liaising with clients and suppliers
- NFQ Level 7+ qualification in Engineering or equivalent
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/SolidWorks
