Role – Package Manager (BESS) – Contract

Location – London (Office Based) + Regular Visits to Supplier Works in Surrey

Mint Selection are working with a UK-based energy infrastructure business delivering large-scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects. They are seeking an experienced Package Manager on a contract basis to support the delivery of key infrastructure packages across two live projects.

This role will act as the primary commercial and technical coordination point for a defined package, covering prefabricated buildings including Protection & Control Rooms, 33kV switchrooms and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will manage the package from procurement through to delivery, working closely with Engineering, Commercial and Project Management teams.

Scope of Work

• Define package scope in collaboration with Technical and Commercial Leads, ensuring clarity around specifications, performance requirements, budget and risk allocation.
• Develop and manage procurement strategy including supplier identification, preparation of tender documentation and technical bid evaluation.
• Coordinate RFQs/RFPs, manage clarifications and support commercial negotiations through to contract finalisation.
• Oversee full delivery of the package including programme, resourcing, cost control, change management and interface coordination.
• Manage EWNs, TQs, RFIs and recurring package meetings, ensuring risks are tracked and escalated appropriately.
• Act as the central interface between engineering, procurement, commercial teams and third-party suppliers.

Experience to be Considered

• Proven experience as a Package Manager or similar within renewable energy, power generation or infrastructure.
• Demonstrable experience managing defined engineering packages from procurement through to delivery.
• Experience delivering substations, 33kV infrastructure, switchrooms, prefabricated electrical buildings or similar balance-of-plant scopes.
• Strong commercial awareness, including exposure to tender management, contract negotiation and change control processes.
• Electrical or multi-discipline engineering background preferred.
• Knowledge of BESS or similar energy infrastructure projects advantageous.

This is a contract opportunity with an immediate start (flexible for the right candidate). Day rate negotiable depending on experience.
