Trim Development Engineer (UK)

Job description

At Itera Mobility Engineering, we are looking for a Trim Development Engineer to join our automotive engineering team in Gaydon, UK.

The key objective in this positionis to lead and coordinate the processes of development & launch of the materials required to trim the Interior components.

Main functions to develop:

• CAD and Development support of new interior trim kits (leather, alcantara, foams…), seat covers and miscellaneous parts required for the Interior Trim.
• Launch of these parts to production through the prototype and production phases.
• Track progress and issues with Program team
• Work with design by reading and interpreting rendered designs, SFS surfaces and color/material splits to ensure feasibility and define requirements of the product.
• Work out with suppliers all the technical data needed for mass production of the kits meeting the program planning.
• Bridge information from the customer’s plant to the CAD team and prioritize their tasks according to customer’s feedback.

Essential Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in similar roles within the automotive sector.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter PLM, NX is required.
• Product development system knowledge.
• Fluent in English is a must.
