We are seeking a mechanically skilled and safety-driven Fire Team Operative to join our team at Sizewell B power station. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a critical national infrastructure site, playing a vital role in maintaining mechanical systems and essential fire protection equipment.

The Role

As a Fire Team Operative, you will be responsible for delivering both mechanical maintenance and essential fire system testing across the station. Your work will directly contribute to site safety, compliance, and operational reliability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical maintenance on equipment including flanges, gaskets, skids, and pipework systems
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance on fire protection systems
  • Test, inspect, and repair fire detection and loss control systems
  • Conduct fire alarm and smoke head testing
  • Inspect, maintain, and service firefighting equipment and associated systems
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with strict health and safety standards


About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Mechanically minded with practical hands-on experience
  • Highly safety-conscious with strong knowledge of HSE compliance
  • Comfortable using basic IT systems for reporting and documentation
  • Experienced in an industrial or regulated environment (advantageous but not essential)
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
