Role: Bid Writer

Location: Hertfordshire Based

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000

Leading Principal Contractor - Pre-Construction Team

We are partnered with an established principal contractor who are seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join its growing Pre-Construction team based at its Hertfordshire Office.

This is a key role supporting PQQ submissions, tender responses and the preparation of high-quality bid documentation across residential and mixed-use schemes.

You will be responsible for:

• Producing compelling, well-structured PQQ and tender submissions
• Preparing and maintaining standard company bid documentation
• Writing and tailoring technical responses aligned to client requirements
• Coordinating input from operational, commercial and design teams
• Ensuring submissions are compliant, accurate and delivered to deadline
• Supporting continuous improvement of bid library content and templates

This is a hands-on, office-based position within a collaborative pre-construction environment.

We are seeking someone from a construction contracting background who understands how principal contractors operate.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience preparing PQQs and tender submissions within a contractor environment
• Strong understanding of construction terminology, sequencing and delivery methodology
• Experience working closely with operational teams to extract technical content
• Excellent written English and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure

A portfolio of previous bid submissions or sample responses will be required. Verbal claims alone will not be sufficient, demonstrable evidence of writing capability is essential.
