Cranberry Panda is looking for a Senior Ecommerce Category Manager | Retail | 12 month FTC

Job description

Senior Ecommerce Category Manager | 12 month FTC

London (1 day per week in office + 1 additional travel day per week - the travel day is expensed)

Circa £80k

I’m looking for a Senior Ecommerce Category Manager to join a large UK retail brand at a pivotal point in its digital growth.

This is a senior commercial role with full ownership of a significant online category. You’ll be responsible for driving revenue, margin and trading performance across web and app - with accountability for how the category performs.

This is not a pure “digital” role. It’s about category leadership - range planning, promo planning, stock, pricing and commercial strategy - delivered through an ecommerce lens.

Why this role

  • Established UK retail brand investing heavily in digital
  • Online channel performing strongly and highly visible internally
  • Full P&L ownership within a sizeable DTC business
  • Team of 4 to lead and develop
  • High level of cross-functional exposure across Digital, Commercial and Finance
  • Role directly impacting revenue, margin and EBITDA
  • 12-month contract with genuine scope to add value in a revenue-generating function

What you’ll be doing

  • Building and delivering digital category strategy
  • Owning end-to-end P&L: revenue, margin, EBITDA
  • Leading detailed range planning - identifying gaps, optimising assortment and aligning with trading priorities
  • Managing promo planning and commercial calendars
  • Trading the category week to week based on performance data
  • Owning marketplace performance across listings, pricing and availability
  • Using data to spot growth opportunities and performance risks
  • Partnering with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to ensure stock and visibility are aligned

What we’re looking for

  • Strong ecommerce category / trading experience within a large retail environment
  • Deep experience in range planning and category strategy - this is essential
  • Clear P&L ownership
  • Commercially sharp - understands margin, stock and promotional impact
  • Comfortable working at pace in a fast-moving trading environment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Data-led, decisive and confident challenging the status quo
