A UK based hedge fund are seeking a DevOps Engineer to maintain and help build out their core trading platforms.

About the Role

Reporting into the technology leadership team, you will join a small, highly skilled platform engineering team responsible for building and scaling a modern cloud-based infrastructure that supports the entire organisation. The team values simplicity, automation, testing, and reliability, and is looking for individuals who combine technical excellence with commercial awareness and strong problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the major build-out of functionality on a new enterprise platform
• Help design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure
• Participate in a shared BAU support rota (across technology and quantitative teams), providing exposure to diverse areas of the business
• Collaborate closely with engineering, analytics, and risk teams
• Continuously improve platform reliability, security, and performance

Tech Stack

• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
• Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure
• Programming Languages: Python, Rust
• Databases: Postgres, ClickHouse

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong analytical background (typically a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field)
• Applied programming experience (Python, Rust, C++, or similar)
• Experience designing and developing cloud-based architectures
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

Desirable

• Networking expertise

• AWS specific knowledge

• Experience of a cloud migration project

• Cloud security experience

• A track record of contributions to an open source project
