Job description
We're looking for an experienced UX Researcher to step into a complex delivery environment and lead research activity with a high degree of autonomy.
This role is suited to someone confident operating independently end-to-end, managing senior and varied stakeholders, and delivering clear, evidence-based insight in constrained, highly governed contexts. You'll be working on a data-heavy digital service where research needs to be pragmatic, well-communicated and directly actionable.
Role Details
- Start Date: 16th February.
- Location: London (hybrid preferred) or remote (UK-only) with occasional client visits around the south of England.
- Duration: 6 months, with strong likelihood of extension.
- Rate: £425/day Inside IR35.
- Security Clearance: Current, active UK Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
Please note: Due to the urgent need of this contract, we are unable to consider candidates without active clearance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Planning and delivering end-to-end user research with minimal oversight.
- Engaging and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including technical, operational and senior decision-makers.
- Navigating complex organisational structures and competing priorities.
- Selecting and applying appropriate research methods to suit constraints, risk and delivery pace.
- Synthesising research into clear, concise insights that teams can act on quickly.
- Presenting findings with confidence and credibility in evidence-led environments.
- Supporting teams to make informed decisions through research, not just documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience delivering UX research independently in complex environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior and non-design stakeholders.
- Background in public sector, regulated, defence or operationally complex organisations (essential).
- Confidence working with ambiguity, constraints and incomplete information.
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused research mindset.
- Current, active UK Security Clearance (SC) - this is essential and non-negotiable.
