Job description

Assistant Logistics & Distribution Manager

Hybrid (roughly 1x per fortnight on site near Slough)

12-Month Fixed Term Contract

£50,000 + potential 7.5% bonus

Are you a hands-on pharmaceutical logistics professional ready to step into a high-impact role within a European supply chain operation?

We are supporting the search for an experienced Assistant Logistics & Distribution Manager to join a well-established pharmaceutical organisation on a 12-month FTC. This role has been created to provide senior-level support within a lean, high-performing logistics team - and for an exceptional performer, there is potential for longer-term opportunity.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Distribution & Logistics Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the end-to-end logistics and distribution of pharmaceutical products across Europe.

This is a hands-on operational logistics role - not a planning position. You will be deeply involved in transport, 3PL management, customs compliance, warehousing oversight, and distribution performance.

You’ll join a collaborative team and act as a senior support to the manager, bringing experience, structure, and confidence to day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end inbound and outbound transport logistics across Europe
  • Manage customs and international trade compliance activities
  • Oversee 3PL providers, warehousing, and secondary distribution
  • Monitor logistics KPIs and performance metrics
  • Support logistics budget tracking and cost control
  • Ensure full compliance with GDP/GMP and regulatory requirements
  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, Quality, and Compliance teams
  • Contribute to S&OP alignment with commercial operations
  • Drive continuous improvement across efficiency, compliance, and cost performance

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical logistics
  • Strong hands-on experience managing 3PL providers
  • Solid understanding of customs and international trade compliance
  • Experience with warehousing and distribution operations
  • Familiarity with ERP and compliance systems
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and commercially aware
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, “sleeves rolled up” mindset

This role would suit someone who enjoys being close to operations, solving real-time challenges, and working in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Package & Logistics

  • Salary: £50,000
  • Bonus: Potential 7.5%
  • 25 days holiday
  • Hybrid working (1 day per fortnight in Windsor)
  • Start ASAP (target May 1st to allow handover period)

If you’re an experienced pharmaceutical logistics professional looking for a meaningful 12-month opportunity where you can truly add value - we’d love to speak with you.
