Job description

This Medical Writer role is with an employee-owned agency in central Oxford, and is ideal for someone with around 12 months of medical communications agency experience working on a publications-focused account.


The team work together in the office 2 days a week, which is centrally located in Oxford, surrounded by lovely places to go for lunch and with great transport links.


Everything you need to know about the role


This Medical Writer role sits on the editorial team surrounded by experienced scientific and editorial specialists, and you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Create science-based content on a Women’s Health publications account
  • Deliverables include agendas, publications, slides, messaging, and meeting materials.
  • Extensive scientific understanding, including landscape, product, competitors and suitable messaging to use on the disease area.
  • Input to strategic thinking, publication planning, scientific platform, narrative and lexicon development
  • Translate the science with integrity, empathy and impact into clear, well-structured and meaningful communications
  • Ensure content adheres to publication guidelines and relevant compliance codes, e.g. ABPI, EFPIA


Experience and qualities that make you a strong fit


  • 12+ months as a Medical Writer in a medical communications agency
  • Publications account experience
  • BSc in a life sciences subject, advanced degree preferred but not essential
  • Organised with excellent time-management skills
  • Proactive and enthusiastic
  • Competent user of MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams

  • A salary of £34,000-£43,000 depending on experience
