Interim MRO Procurement Manager – Vehicle Maintenance & Engineering

Mostly Home-Based (1 Day per Week Bristol) | 6 Month Contract | £550–£650 per day

This is a high-impact interim opportunity for an experienced MRO procurement professional with a background in vehicle maintenance, engineering or asset-heavy environments.

A major government organisation is seeking an Interim MRO Procurement Manager to take ownership of sourcing strategy across complex maintenance categories. The focus is on vehicle and asset maintenance, spanning areas such as ships, submarines, military vehicles, heavy machinery and similar environments. Candidates with experience across rail, automotive or fleet maintenance will also be strongly considered.

This role is centred on building sourcing strategy from the ground up, engaging technical stakeholders and delivering commercially robust outcomes across critical maintenance programmes.

You will lead discovery activity, analyse spend, shape sourcing approaches and influence senior stakeholders on how maintenance supply chains are structured for long-term value.

Ideal background

• Strong MRO procurement experience within vehicle maintenance or engineering environments
• Exposure to ships, submarines, military vehicles, rail, automotive or heavy machinery
• Proven ability to build and execute sourcing strategies
• Confident stakeholder engagement across engineering and operational teams
• Public or private sector background welcomed

Contract details

6 months initially (strong extension potential), mostly home-based with one day per week in Bristol, £550–£650 per day.
