Associate/Senior Associate – Restructuring & Insolvency (9–12 Month FTC)

London or Bristol | Hybrid / Predominantly Remote Considered


A highly regarded UK law firm is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its Restructuring & Insolvency team on a 9-to-12-month fixed term contract.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a market recognised team with a strong reputation for advising on complex, high value and often cross border restructuring and insolvency matters. The team advises across the full spectrum of stressed and distressed situations and works with a broad range of stakeholders including corporates, lenders, sponsors, investors and insolvency practitioners.

The Practice

The Restructuring & Insolvency practice sits within a wider Disputes & Risk group and has a predominantly non-contentious focus.

The team advises on complex domestic and cross border restructuring and insolvency matters that are often strategic, time critical and commercially sensitive. Work spans the full restructuring and insolvency toolkit and involves close collaboration with restructuring accountants, turnaround professionals and international colleagues.

The practice has experience across a range of sectors including retail, financial services, digital business, energy and renewables, and real estate and infrastructure.


The Role

The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with experience in restructuring, insolvency and or special situations.

The firm is ideally seeking candidates with approximately 2 to 8 years’ PQE, although applicants outside this range with relevant experience will be considered.


You will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Strong experience in restructuring and insolvency matters
  • Confidence working with financing, security and related documentation
  • The ability to deliver clear, practical and commercially focused advice
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage complex, fast moving matters
  • Initiative, sound judgement and excellent written and verbal communication skills
