Contracts Manager
Location: Low Prudhoe, Northumberland (with regional travel)
Salary: £60,000 + Company Car
Contract: Permanent | Full-Time
About the Role
A well-established and growing contractor delivering complex demolition, earthworks, quarrying,
and environmental services across the UK is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead and oversee demolition projects across the region.
This is a key leadership role where you will act as the primary client interface, ensuring seamless
coordination between site teams, subcontractors, commercial teams, and senior management.
While demolition experience is desirable, applications are welcome from professionals with strong
CDM expertise gained in adjacent sectors such as civils, construction, or utilities who are ready to
transfer their skills into demolition.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
• Act as Project Lead for designated contracts
• Represent the business at client meetings and progress reviews
• Empower Site Managers to effectively manage day-to-day operations
Stakeholder Management
• Facilitate communication between clients, subcontractors, site teams, and internal
departments
• Ensure actions are tracked and delivered in a timely manner
Commercial & Programme Management
• Provide regular updates to support monthly valuations
• Identify and flag variations early
• Maintain and update project programmes (liaising with planners where required)
Reporting & Governance
• Produce contractor reports and present at client progress meetings
• Attend weekly operations meetings
• Chair regular Site Management meetings
Compliance & QHSE
• Oversee contractual and legislative compliance
• Ensure safe systems of work documentation (RAMS, POWRA, Perimetry, Daily Briefings) is
implemented and adhered to
• Promote a strong culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence
Collaboration
• Work closely with Health & Safety, Environment, Technical, Commercial, Management, and
Bid teams
About You
• Proven experience managing CDM contracts and leading multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong client-facing and presentation skills
• Solid understanding of programme management and commercial processes (valuations and
variations)
• Hands-on experience implementing RAMS, POWRA, Perimetry and Daily Briefings
• Organised, proactive, and calm under pressure
• Willingness to travel to regional sites as required
