Senior Counsel - Credit Risk/Political Risk Insurance

Exclusively working with a leading (re)insurance broker who are seeking to hire a Senior Counsel. The role will support both the centralised legal function and lead the firm's Trade Credit, Political Risk and Surety division from a legal perspective.

As Senior Counsel, you will be responsible for:

• Policy Wording Drafting & Review across Political Risk, Surety & Credit Risk.
• Providing guidance to clients on policy wording compliance and coverage issues, related to Basel directives.
• Assisting on claims and restructuring of policies.
• Supporting on complex financing arrangements and documentation.
• Supporting the central legal function across commercial contracts and regulatory advice.
• Providing education, training and support on relevant legal issues to the wider business.
• Running litigation matters and liaising with external counsel when needed.

The successful candidate must be a qualified lawyer with at least 10 years+ PQE, with strong experience in Private Practice and In-House. Strong experience of Insurance Law, particularly in the Credit/Surety space is essential.

A very attractive salary and package (bonus up to 30%) and other great benefits are on offer. This role is a hybrid position, typically 3 days a week in the office.
