Are you a commercially minded Boyswear Designer with the ability to translate established brand DNA into compelling, age-appropriate collections?
Do you understand how to balance trend relevance, product integrity and margin targets in a fast-paced licensing environment?
Can you manage multi-category design from concept through to final approval while working cross-functionally with Technical, Sourcing and Merchandising teams?
MacGregor Black is partnering with a global licensing specialist on the search for a Boyswear Designer, based in London.
This role is responsible for the end-to-end design and development of multi-product boyswear collections, ensuring ranges are brand-aligned, commercially viable and delivered in line with seasonal critical paths.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creative development of seasonal boyswear collections across jersey, sweat, knitwear, woven product and outerwear.
- Translate established brand handwriting into commercially strong childrenswear ranges for global markets.
- Build cohesive seasonal stories including colour palettes, fabric direction and key silhouettes.
- Own design critical path from concept through to final approval.
- Produce detailed CADs, tech packs and design specifications for development.
- Partner closely with Technical and Production teams to ensure fit, construction and quality standards are achieved.
- Attend and lead fit sessions, providing clear and actionable feedback.
- Work alongside Merchandising to align range architecture with commercial targets.
- Collaborate with Sourcing and factories to ensure cost prices and margin requirements are met.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity and sales performance to inform design decisions.
- Present seasonal concepts and final ranges to senior stakeholders.
- Travel where required to support development and supplier relationships.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience at Designer level within boyswear or childrenswear.
- Strong understanding of working within established brand guidelines.
- Experience designing across multi-product categories.
- Commercially aware with an understanding of costings and margin impact.
- Strong technical knowledge of fabrics, trims and garment construction.
- Experience working with offshore factories and managing development timelines.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Suite.
- Organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Confident communicator comfortable working cross-functionally.
- Proactive mindset with strong ownership mentality.
